Carthage - Ancient, Antique & Vintage Women's Bead Bracelet For Her- Carthage

Inspired by the Route 66 Drive In Theater in Carthage, MO., the Carthage bracelet by Journeymenbeads is a potpourri of ancient, vintage and antique beads. Of particular note are the green Roman glass beads, made in Afghanistan with 12 to 15th century Roman glass found along the ancient trade route of Western Asia. These beads are made by hand from shards of ancient perfume and oil bottles collected from the rubble along the route. Sprinkled into the string are 100 year old Venetian glass beads in a royal blue tone and carnelian stone beads in a rich root beer amber manufactured sometime in the early 1930's. The feature bead, made of Chinese yak bone, is hand carved and drilled into a specific pattern that is meant to evoke happiness and good luck. The bone beads are surrounded by tiny red/yellow kakamba beads, sometimes known as Prosser beads due to their unique manufacturing technique of cold forming with an additive derived from cow milk. We finish the bead soup mix with a dash of Czech Anisa Picasso glass beads from a reputable dealer in Eastern Europe. Each string includes a small Japanese Glass Charm in brass acquired from an estate sale of a former costume jeweler in Southern Vermont. In all, this magnificently curated string will provide the extra "color pop" you are looking for in your Bohemian styled jewelry. Wear it to the beach, your next summer party or out with friends for a drink or dinner. Compliments will abound. Current supply is limited to only 5 so order now. Available in a Women's length only. Please see the Ozark bracelet for a similar style in a mens size.

We gather our beads from all over the world, taking particular notice of those beads with culture, history and collectability, and string them on sturdy elastic cord. PLEASE READ OUR ABOUT PAGE FOR EXPLANATION OF BEAD VARIATION AND COLOR.

Yes of course! We can make any of our styles in any length. We also offer commission orders and will do our best to collaborate with you to get the best result. Remember, we only use vintage and antique beads so inventory may be gone when you ask for a customized style.

Care instructions

Many of our bracelets include antique bone, horn and natural seed beads. All of these are susceptible to damage from excessive moisture. We recommend not wearing them while swimming or exercising. Our metal beads and some of our bone beads will patina over time. This is normal and the original color pallet accounts for the transition in tone.

Do you use software to enhance your photos?

The inspiration pictures at the end of the listings are enhanced with photo software. This is to fully express the pallet and overall feeling we want you to perceive of these places. Our product photos, all those before the inspiration picture, are not enhanced, and, to the best of our ability, reflect what you will be wearing upon delivery. Occasionally, as we complete final edits of a new listing, we will come across a small loss of pixels, white pin holes, in the photo after transferring to a web page. We do use a filler software program to correct those minute transfer errors. Bead color and tone may vary as antique beads colors can slightly vary from one string to another.
