Ocean Park - Antique & Vintage Women's Beaded Bracelet/Gift For Her

Inspired by the eclectic charm of a the beach walk in the town once known as Ocean Park, CA (now part of Santa Monica) the Ocean Park Bracelet is an exquisite accessory. At over 29 inches in length it creates an instant stack of four strands around the wrist or 2 around the neck. It is also suitable for a loose three wrap anklet or as waist beads. Padre beads are so named after the Franciscan monks who prized the beads for prayer. When these monks came to Africa the beads were of interest to the tribesmen and soon became currency for trading. Later, in North America the beads became a staple trade currency with American Indians, the tribes prizing most the sky blue beads. The Ocean Park is a mix of vintage Ghana padre beads and 100 year old European padre beads, carefully curated and sorted so the presentation of the mix is seamless to the eye. It contains a mix of seed beads with melon stripes, bi-color stripe, primary solid beads as well as muted pastels. Of particular note are the antique sky blue beads that were prized by the American Indians - later called Cheyenne Blues - are a rare find in a piece this inexpensive. We finish the piece with 2 7mm Czech Percosia pony beads in complimentary blue and orange. Known for their luster and precision we use these to hide the string knot. The exceptional quality of the glass and colors is amazing, and the rustic shape of the beads adds to their charm. You get over 250 beads per strand for an instant stacked look. Buy 2 for the stunning effect of of 8 strand stack. You will not be disappointed.

We gather our beads from all over the world, taking particular notice of those beads with culture, history and collectability, and string them on sturdy elastic cord. PLEASE READ OUR ABOUT PAGE FOR EXPLANATION OF BEAD VARIATION AND COLOR.

Care instructions

Many of our bracelets include antique bone, horn and natural seed beads. All of these are susceptible to damage from excessive moisture. We recommend not wearing them while swimming or exercising. Our metal beads and some of our bone beads will patina over time. This is normal and the original color pallet accounts for the transition in tone.

Do you use software to enhance your photos?

The inspiration pictures at the end of the listings are enhanced with photo software. This is to fully express the pallet and overall feeling we want you to perceive of these places. Our product photos, all those before the inspiration picture, are not enhanced, and, to the best of our ability, reflect what you will be wearing upon delivery. Occasionally, as we complete final edits of a new listing, we will come across a small loss of pixels, white pin holes, in the photo after transferring to a web page. We do use a filler software program to correct those minute transfer errors. Bead color and tone may vary as antique beads colors can slightly vary from one string to another.

I love this bracelet, it goes with everything! Long enough for a necklace and great on my arm! Items were shipped quickly and I also received a thank you gift! JourneymenBeads is one of my favorite shops and I’ve already ordered more! Thanks so much!

Absolutely love the string of beads. Arrived quick. Thanks!

This shop deserves 6 stars. the Postal service failed miserably and it took over 3 weeks to arrive. In the meantime, the owner shipped all he could to replace them and then the first order showed up. The bracelets themselves are a treasure and the shop owner is service oriented, patient and kind! good job and thank you
