Inspired by the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ on famous Route 66, the Holbrook bracelet for women is a piece of history. The 2mm to 5mm cobalt blue, and white beads date back to sometime between 1200 and 1600 AD and were excavated from the Djenne trading route between Djenne and Timbuktu in Mali, Africa. Buried along the route for as long as 600 years, the beads were not traded as much as sold to traders to establish their high status and wealth. Most likely made in Rome, the beads were released by the Mali government when they were determined not to be authentically made artifacts from the region. Due to their long time under ground, they have a sandy texture that adds a unique body to the piece. We've sprinkled in some modern steel and antique African heshei wire beads to add a sparkle and dimension to the finish piece. Ideal as a 3 wrap bracelet or wonderful as a necklace too. The Holbrook evokes a beach feel, but wherever you wear it you will know you are wearing some history. Very limited quantities.
Strung in a women's 21 inch length. Although the color pallet is similar, each bracelet is uniquely different and not all beads listed are in each piece. Please view all the photos before purchasing.
We gather our beads from all over the world, taking particular notice of those beads with culture, history and collectability, and string them on sturdy elastic cord. PLEASE READ OUR ABOUT PAGE FOR EXPLANATION OF BEAD VARIATION AND COLOR.

We make all our bracelets in standard women’s and men’s sizes. Our men’s size can also be ordered for women as a double wrap anklet. Standard women’s size is 22.5 inches for a three wrap, men’s 24.5 inches. As always custom sizing is available and if you find the bracelet too tight or too big, we can always alter it an no charge. Just ask...
Yes of course! We can make any of our styles in any length. We also offer commission orders and will do our best to collaborate with you to get the best result. Remember, we only use vintage and antique beads so inventory may be gone when you ask for a customized style.
Many of our bracelets include antique bone, horn and natural seed beads. All of these are susceptible to damage from excessive moisture. We recommend not wearing them while swimming or exercising. Our metal beads and some of our bone beads will patina over time. This is normal and the original color pallet accounts for the transition in tone.
The inspiration pictures at the end of the listings are enhanced with photo software. This is to fully express the pallet and overall feeling we want you to perceive of these places. Our product photos, all those before the inspiration picture, are not enhanced, and, to the best of our ability, reflect what you will be wearing upon delivery. Occasionally, as we complete final edits of a new listing, we will come across a small loss of pixels, white pin holes, in the photo after transferring to a web page. We do use a filler software program to correct those minute transfer errors. Bead color and tone may vary as antique beads colors can slightly vary from one string to another.
